Our Team

Kathleen Sullivan, CEO
Kathleen Sullivan brings the valuable knowledge of saving money to the consumer without compromising on quality.  As President of Express Your Point, Kathleen worked with contractors across the United States, turning complex data into visual communication. As a founder of PE Systems (now Vizant), documenting corporate inefficiencies, the goal was putting money back into their client’s budgets.  A graduate of the University of Washington, she is a member of MARCOM, NAPP, American Lighting Association, the American Alliance of Museums, National Association of Women in Construction, and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.  Free time?  Kathleen is on the Organizing Committee of Spokane Hoopfest, the largest 3-on-3 basketball tournament in the world.  A founder and co-chair of Mended Hearts through the American Heart Association, she’s involved in the support and outreach network for families with children who have heart issues. Kathleen’s daughter Stephanie is the teen spokesperson for Mended Hearts, having survived heart surgery in 2002. Kathleen loves to travel and scuba dive, which is annoying for everyone who has to do her work when she’s gone. ksullivan@fgillumination.com

Jan Smith, Lighting Analyst
Jan Smith is a great hybrid of operations and sales.  A former Boeing team member, she has been involved in every step of product development through sales: from the initial engineer designs and development, to scheduling, and presenting to clients.  Jan has been a marketing consultant for small businesses, including a brewery, a real estate developer, a biotech startup, a book seller, and restaurant, just to name a few.  Her varied experiences help her understand the needs of business owners and aid her in the application of appropriate solutions.  An outdoors enthusiast, she supports environmental conservation, and has been a longtime advocate for good environmental stewardship. “I want to help save the world, one light bulb at a time.” Jan is also a private piano teacher and accompanist.  She is frequently found playing incredible piano solos (underneath a bright LED light of course). jsmith@fgillumination.com

Jack Rutherford, AIA.  Lighting Architect and Technical Coordinator
Jack Rutherford, consultant to FGI as an Architect and Technical Coordinator, is a graduate of the Cornell College of Architecture. His career spans 30 years of innovative, practical design. Highlights include the archeological dig reconstructing the Sanctuary of Apollo Hylates in Cyprus, the design of the Storm King Art Center, and the historical restoration of many prestigious homes in the East, most notably the Cedar Grove Plantation in Virginia. Yeah, he’s pretty much done cool stuff, which was why we wanted him. Jack is also the inventor of one of the most efficient and green heating systems available today. His system combines geothermal radiant heat with unique foil and foam wall insulation, and is in use on many of his residential projects. Jack is a past chairman of the Ketchum, Idaho Planning and Zoning Commission, where he oversaw all development in the resort town and was instrumental in the downtown master plan, the dark sky ordinance, and various green initiatives.

Pamela Pavey Lemon, Customer Service Manager
After attending the University of Washington, Pam returned to her native roots: Spokane.  She has extensive experience in outside and inside sales, customer service relations, and sales support, and management.  “Quite frankly, I just want the client to have a good day.  Who doesn’t want that?”  A regular volunteer in the schools her kids attend, she’s also an avid gardener, and she’s quick to say her garden is a “deer Buffet.” “Give me a ‘deer resistant plant’ I’ll prove you wrong—in about 30 seconds.” plemon@fgillumination.com
